I am dedicated to God, Church, Family and Community. I decided to run for Duncan Mayor out of a sense of duty both to my community and to myself. Duncan has been my family’s hometown for 23 years. This great town is my family’s future and I’m excited to serve. So, I want to make sure that the town is well managed. My experience includes five years on the Duncan council, more than thirty years in management of operations, twelve years involved in governmental contracts, seventeen years as a training manager, six years as a business contractor, and chairman of the board of my church for thirteen years has given me experience on how to properly budget funds for both the present and the future.

I decided to run again to continue contributing to the progress Duncan has made over the last  five years. Some of the accomplishments that contributed to this progress are:

  • Eliminating the almost 900k of debt by selling the sewer system to Lyman. This sale benefited the entire area by consolidating the sewer system into a single more efficient system.
  • Proved that I will keep my word when it comes to managing growth. I voted FOR THE PEOPLE when the zoning board and the citizens both opposed the high density homes downtown.
  • Worked with Lyman and new businesses to expand the sewer system for the area. This expansion benefited Duncan by increasing our tax base and has benefited the entire area by increasing sewer revenue.
  • Voted against tax increases for residents
  • A major accomplishment has been increasing the tax base mostly with industrial businesses as opposed to subdivisions. These businesses bring in more tax revenue with fewer police, fire and maintenance department costs than subdivisions do. This is all part of a long range plan to build up a comfortable reserve fund and be able to pave roads in the future.
  • Establishing business incentives in addition to making sewer available has brought good paying jobs to Duncan.
  • Building a multipurpose community event center that has created a venue for Duncan to host more community events. The money for this and the water park comes from a State mandated hospitality tax that can only be spent on items like this.
  • I enjoyed working with our town administrator to help make beneficial improvements to the Shipwreck Cove water park. These improvements are bringing in more money to the water park thus freeing up more hospitality tax funds to be spent in other areas.
  • Upgrading police, fire and public works equipment. Most of the major items are now new or newer and have been set-up so that when big ticket items reach the end of their useful life the money will be there to replace them. This is part of planning for the future.
  • Annexing property to increase our territory. * Keeping taxes low for Duncan residents.
